Print on demand, printed only when it sells

Your book stays available in print without stock, storage or upfront print runs. We prepare your files to print-on-demand specifications and set the book up for online orders.

  • Online sales
  • Avoiding stock
  • Keeping a book in print
  • Small presses

No stock, no warehouse

With print on demand, each copy is printed when a reader orders it. There is no minimum run, no storage and no unsold boxes in the garage.

The trade-off is fewer format options and a higher cost per copy, so it suits ongoing online sales best. Many authors use print on demand alongside a short run for events.

Print on Demand: questions

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.

All FAQs
Is print on demand quality as good as a print run?

For most novels and non-fiction it is very good. Special finishes such as foil and sprayed edges usually need a traditional print run.

Can I use print on demand and a short run together?

Yes. Many authors sell online through print on demand and order a short run for launches and signings.

Who receives the money from sales?

Sales are paid through the retailer account set up for your book. How accounts and royalties are handled is set out in your agreement.
